What's better than a cute baby? TWO cute babies! I got just that when I met Brandi & Andrew and their two adorable twin babies. It was a great day in Regina, we went to the Wascana park and took a lot of family photos. The whole family was amazingly photogenic, so I'll let the photos speak for themselves:

Herrington Family Regina Photoshoot
The Herrington family was a ton of fun to work with, and they showed me a new spot to take pictures! I love when people show me new places, and this park was an absolute gem, truly one of Regina's best photo spots. Here are some photos from the session:

Wascana Park Family Photoshoot Regina SK
It has been unbearably hot lately, but that hasn't stopped Last Mountain Photography from getting some great family photos in and around Regina SK. This latest shoot was taken at Wascana Park. It was very sweaty but I don't think you'll be able to tell in the photos. . . Here's a peek at the photos:

Shelly and Deano Harley Photoshoot in Regina SK
Do you ever wonder what kind of people have Harleys? Well I met two of them the other day, Shelly and Deano. I met up with them in Regina SK on Thursday night, we went to a field by their place as well as Government House. They turned out to be a lot of fun and I got some great shots of them and their 'hogs':

Lisa's Family Photoshoot
This afternoon I met up with Lisa and her two daughters. We had a lot of fun taking photos and visiting. They also brought their pooch "Charley" along for some photos. He kind of looked like a walking carpet to me but he was well behaved! Here are some photos from our shoot in Regina SK:

Regina Maternity Photography Tips
One of the most important things in life is to capture memories from times that have passed. Pregnancy is a beautiful time in a woman's life that deserves to be captured forever with Maternity Photography. Many photographers in Regina offer this service, including Last Mountain Photography , and it's important that before you book a session that you remember a few tips:

- Monochrome Looks Best - Generally speaking, and especially for studio-based shoots, monochrome (Black and White or Sepia for instance) photos look best for maternity photographs. It can be helpful to bring a few different outfits that are monochromatic. Another idea is to use some fabric to drape over your body, some studios offer this and some do not, just ask.
- The 3rd Trimester - You want to wait till you have a nice belly before coming in for a maternity photoshoot. This is usually into your third trimester, but it depends on a lot of things. Women also tend to show more if it isn't their first child.
- Have a light Snack Beforehand - It is important to have a light snack before the shoot as it helps to give that extra bit of life and glow to your face/body.
- Don't worry about Blemishes - While your body will be a big part of the maternity photographs, don't worry about blemishes. Most any studio will get rid of stretch marks and other blemishes during computer editting of the photographs.
- Include Daddy - While it seems like you're doing all of the work during the pregnancy, it is very important to include the Daddy in the photos.
- Include any other children - Your pregnancy is a big deal to your other kids. They will be getting a new brother or sister afterall!
- Pick inside or outside and focus on that - Both in-studio or outdoor maternity photographs are common, and both can be very beautiful. It is important to pick the type that you like, and then focus on that. The photographs will come out better if you, and your photographer, can focus on being creative for one type of shoot.
- Get a collage of the shoot - Maternity photoshoots tend to produce many different images. A collage/collection of pictures on your wall will be make for an amazing decoration.
- Consider "Baby's first year Photography" - Once your baby arrives, he/she will change rapidly over the coming year. It is important to capture this important year forever. Consider planning a "Baby's First Year Photography" plan with your photographer so that you don't miss anything. This usually entails 3 or 4 photo sessions over the coming year.

Groupon Success
As many of you know, I recently launched a groupon ad (see below if you bought one and had questions!). It was huge success and I've already started hearing from my new groupon friends! It's going to be great to shoot all of the different kinds of shoots that are lined up. I've only heard from about 10% of the grouponers so far and already I know that I'll be doing maternity, baby, dog, confirmation, engagement, and family shoots.
Looking forward to meeting everyone!

Sarah and Jordan Engagement Photo Shoot
Last night I went on a photoshoot with Sarah and Jordan. First we took some pictures with their dogs and then we went to Wascana for some more pictures. On the way we took a pit stop at some train tracks and stopped by Government House. It was a great night and I look forward to shooting their wedding next year! Here are some photos:

Roughrider Wedding Photos??
Today I met with some new clients, Cheryl and Shane, and we discussed what they'd like their wedding photos to be like. Cheryl wants some traditional photos, maybe at the legislative building, and Shane nodded his agreement. I noticed that they were both wearing Rider jerseys and that there was a "rider bus" under construction outside in their backyard. "Would you guys want any wedding photos that have a Roughrider theme?" I asked. Shane was all of a sudden excited about his future wedding pictures, Cheryl liked the idea too, as long as "they aren't all Roughrider pictures"!
We talked a bit about it and they are looking into whether or not we can get into Taylor field or some sort of other Roughrider themed area. I think it would be great if we could take pictures of a mock touch-football game with the wedding party. Everyone could have jerseys on over their formal attire!
Needless to say, this isn't forsure but I think it would make for some great pictures. I think the most important thing that you can do when planning your photoshoot with your photographer is to make sure that the photos are YOUR photos, not anyone elses.
Have a great Saskatchewan Day!

Fun Places to Take Pictures in Regina
I'm not sure how many amateur photographers read this blog, but for those of you that do, here are some great places to take photos in Regina that are a lot of fun:

- Wascana Park and Legislative Building - This one speaks for itself. The grounds are fantastic, there's great views of the water, flowers, birds, and the city sky line. It's also a great place to do wedding and engagement photos in Regina.
- Warehouse District - It's fun to drive/walk around this area of Regina and see what kind of grungy and fun pictures that you can get. A lot of the buidling have character and some are very old.
- Candy Cane Park - This is a great Regina location. Lots of scenery, greenery, and tom-foolery.
- Downtown - There are some neat places downtown, like Victoria Park, Hotel Saskatchewan, and the Casino just to name a few.

Michelle and Rob's Wedding in one week!
In about a week I'll be shooting Michelle and Rob's wedding at the Regina Floral Conservatory followed by the reception at the Tartan Club. It should be a great time and I can't wait to see the pictures that come out of it!
Hopefully the weather cooperates for once this year and we can take some outdoor pictures!

Danielle and Ben Preview
I just woke up after a long night photographing Danielle and Ben's Wedding Reception. Here are some quick pictures from the event, I intend on posting more later once I've had a chance to go through them a bit better! It was tricky working in the dim lite Travelodge but thanks to my new flash, it worked out great.

Model Mayhem
I found a great new site online to mingle with other photographers and models in the industry. I haven't done a lot of work with models but it is something that I'd like to get into one day. There are actually a lot of Saskatchewan professionals on the site and I highly recommend others to visit this site:

Regina Wedding Photography on the Horizon
I'm getting excited for the wedding photography season here in good old Regina. I've got three weddings booked in Regina and one booked in Elbow Saskatchewan so far. Three of those weddings took advantage of my introductory pricing (sorry, it's no longer available!) and the other one I'm doing the reception for.
I'm still available for a lot of weekends this spring and summer, and I look forward to hopefully having a few more bookings. I don't want to get too busy though, wedding photography is a lot of work, but it's sooo worth it!

Walking the Dog on the First Day of Spring
Barkley (our dog) enjoyed his first walk of Spring, it was followed by a bath in the sink because he became covered in filth. I took the opportunity to take some random pictures but it was hard with him pulling me around!

Site Launched!
Well the site is online! It still needs some tweeking but I think it looks great so far. The whole experience has been pretty good, and it was a lot easier than I had imagined.

On another note, I finally got around to setting my spare bedroom up like a real office, instead of using the kitchen table! Atleast this way I can shut the dog out if he's getting in the way...
