As some of you know, I've recently began offering photo booth rental within the province of Saskatchewan. From the searching I've done, I cannot find any other providers in Regina or Saskatoon, so I thought that I'd write an article about how my photo booth works and what others can do if they'd like to setup their own photo booth.
How mine works:
Studio lighting is setup within a cordoned-off area within the event. Inside this area, a pro level camera and a professional photographer are stationed, ready to take photos of guests. Depending on what clients want, prints can be printed onsite or they can receive a DVD and web gallery of all of the pictures at the end of the event. There is also a "prop box" included that has some wacky props that guests can wear if they choose. Finally, there is a red carpet setup at the entrance. Its a great crowd pleaser activity and its simple for clients too.
Ideas for other people:
First, you need to determine whether you want prints available on site. You also need to determine if you want a manned, or unmanned, booth. If you want a manned booth, its probably best to hire someone as they will have to be running the booth instead of enjoying the event. Other things to consider: make sure to get some props, buy a tripod and a remote if its going to be unmanned, and try to find a neutral background(white or black works well). This should get you started on setting up your photo booth.
